Koo Crosses 15 Million User Base, Experts Say the Best Alternative to Twitter

Koo a social networking service and microblogging service. It has become one of the fastest-growing apps in India. Especially Koo, providing a multilingual facility for users to express their thoughts and witty statements has become its main advantage. Because in India there are many people who don’t speak English. In fact, 80% of the world does not use English. Along with that, nearly 1 billion people in India don’t know English. 

So it makes perfect sense why people are showing more interest in Koo instead of Twitter. Koo enables its users to express their thoughts and feelings in their own regional language. Users can even use the talk to type feature. Which uses Koo’s voice assistant to convert your speaking into the wording. Recently, Koo has announced that it has crossed 15 million user base. In that, 5 million users have onboarded the platform in the last quarter. 

Koo has very ambitious plans to expand its user base throughout the world. It has been planning to get into a new market in Southeast Asia after June 2022. Interestingly, the platform has the largest user base in Nigeria. Because the Nigerian government has banned Twitter in their country. The move came after Twitter deleted Nigeria’s President’s tweet saying it violated our policies. 

As a result, the Nigerian population started looking for alternative applications. At the same time, Koo has made its entry into the play store. Nigeria’s President joined the platform, Koo. Eventually, everyone in Nigeria started using Koo. Thus, the application has mounted to new heights in terms of the user base. 

Along with that, Twitter had some disputes with a few political party leaders in India. Twitter even suspended a few political leaders’ official handles in the name of violating their guidelines and policies. Political leaders have even filed cases against Twitter in the past. All these issues raised dissatisfaction with the platform. 

Which benefited the new Koo microblogging platform in India. Koo social networking was founded by Aprameya Radhakrishna and Mayank Bidawatka. Over they have made changes to make the platform as user-friendly as possible. Currently, it has established itself as the potential competitor to the social networking giant Twitter. 

We can also say that cabinet ministers like Piyush Goyal and a few others have shifted to the Koo app from Twitter. After the battle between the government and Twitter during the farmer’s protest movement. The app has millions of new users onboarding the platform in the month of April 2021. 

Ravi Shankar Prasad, who is a union cabinet Minister became the first minister to surpass 1 million followers on the platform Koo. Within a short time, the new microblogging platform Koo has seen rapid growth in the digital space. 

Coming to the platform, Koo has many interesting features and a user interface. It offers a yellow tick for the verified accounts. A user-friendly interface has a “talk to type” feature and a multilingual feature. Along with this, the app is made in India, which became a special attraction for many.
