Coal Crisis, Like Never Before, Terrifies Multiple States in the Country !

coal crisis in india,

Electricity is one of the most important resources that every person in the country needs. Most of the electricity comes from our coal thermal power plants. However, for the past few months, people are talking about the major coal crisis that we haven’t witnessed in a long time. Well’ how far the coal crisis will be, depending on how immediately government will take action towards this issue.

As the country came out of the COVID’s first and second wave, it has been witnessing a record level of electricity usage. Unfortunately, we are also running out of coal in our thermal plants in the country. Already some business people and political leaders have informed this matter to both public and central government.

Recently, addressing this issue, Tata Power has taken the initiative to inform its users to be conscious of electricity usage. Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd has warned users against the major coal crisis. The company has sent an SMS to its customers that is going viral on social media. The major coal crisis is getting the attention that it needs.

The SMS, sent by Tata Power to its customers as follows. It read “Due to limited coal availability in generation plants across the north. The power supply, especially at the time between 2 pm to 6 pm is at an all-time high and critical stage. So it’s our humble request to use electricity judiciously. Be a responsible citizen. Inconvenience caused is regretted.”

With this message, it is understandable the critical situation the country is experiencing in generating electricity. If going in the same fashion, then it could lead to a power outage like never before. There is a heavy chance that soon major cities in the country will experience a power-down scenario.

Along with this, Power Minister R k Singh has also emphasized the same issue. He said that coal shortages at thermal power plants in the country are beyond usual. Later, he also confirmed that the action steps required for handling this power crisis. He said in the upcoming second quarter of October the power demand will be moderated and coal supplies to power plants will also get improved.

Many states in the country are panicking as the coal crisis getting critical day by day. As of now, the shortage of coal supplies lead to the shutdown of three power stations in Punjab, four in Kerala, and thirteen in Maharashtra. The coal shortage is affecting slowly every state in the country. Multiple states are terrified about the upcoming coal crisis.

Addressing the issue, some states have informed their citizens to use electricity wisely. Whereas the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal urged the central government to intervene and to increase the coal supply to the thermal plants. Otherwise, the state will experience a major power crisis over the decade.

However, the central government is quite confident about sufficient power generation. Also assures other states that there is no need to worry. But what kind of situation will manifest in the future, only time will reveal. If you want to stay updated on all the viral content that is happening around, then subscribe.
