October 2nd is the Gandhi Jayanthi when the entire country honors and celebrates his efforts made towards freeing the country from the British. Gandhi was one such person who had inspired and completely changed everyone’s perspective of non-violence. 

Every year our country celebrates this auspicious day grandly. The entire country remembers and honors the efforts that Gandhiji made for India. However, this year Gandhiji Jayanthi has become much more special with the world’s largest Khadi Flag. 

The World’s largest Khadi Flad has been hosted in Leh town, Ladakh. This Khadi flag was inaugurated by Ladakh Lieutenant Governor RK Mathur. Interestingly the inauguration took place on the same day as Gandhi Jayanthi that has made this day much more memorable. 

This Khadi National Flag is also being promoted as the World’s Largest National Flag. The entire flag was made up of Khadi material. It measurement are quite mind-blowing. The khadi flag measures 225 feet in length and 150 feet in width. Also, it seems that this flag has an astounding weight of 1 ton. 

Initially, the inauguration was broadcasted by national broadcaster Doordarshan. The DDnews official social media handle has posted the inauguration videos. Since then, the videos have been circulating all over social media platforms. 

Addressing the world’s largest Khadi Flag inauguration, the Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya took to Twitter handle and expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm. He tweeted “It is a moment of great pride for India that on Gandhi Jayanthi occasion, the world’s largest Khadi Tiranga is unveiled. The tweet ended with Jai Hind, Jai Bharat. 

It is a fact that making such a great feat possible requires great efforts from its creators. Based on reports, the World’s largest Khadi flag has taken almost 1.5 months of hard work and dedication. Also, it has been designed by the 57 Engineer Regiment of the Indian Army. The flag was made by Khadi and Village Industry Commission (KVIC). 

Overall, the world’s largest Khadi national flag has taken a significant amount of hard work and effort from artists. All their efforts and hard work have made this wonderful gesture possible.
