Nike Is Planning For Biodegradable Shoes Made Of Carbon

The clothing and footwear industry is the fastest-growing and booming industry right now. Every year, more than 23 billion footwear pairs come out of the market. At the same time, yearly millions of shoes were thrown out. Which is also one of the reasons for ground pollution, as these shoes take a very long time to fully decompose in a landfill. 

In recent years, the world has recognized the importance of more eco-friendly products to reduce pollution. Major brands around the world, including footwear brands, also looking to produce eco-friendly and recyclable products. Nike plays an important role in the footwear industry. Recognizing the need for eco-friendly and recyclable products, Nike has even initiated the “move to zero” journey. 

Nike is planning to make zero carbon and zero waste for a better future. In the past, Nike has made many products that are eco-friendly. It made sneakers using factory scraps and recycled materials. Nike’s chief design officer John Hoke and the team have made extra efforts to produce the lowest carbon in footwear. 

Nike has initiated the sneakers named `”Space Hippie” line. Which is made out of factory scraps and recycled materials. They are the most eco-friendly sneakers Nike has ever made. Not only are these shoes eco-friendly but also they are quite comfortable to wear. 

Increasing day by day pollution concerns has made Nike move one step further. Nike decided to initiate a new project of sneakers that will be most eco-friendly and yet recyclable. Nike is planning to work on biodegradable shoes that are made out of carbon. 

With the increasing production of sneakers and other footwear every year, decomposition has become the major issue for ground pollution. Generally, sneakers take nearly years to decompose in a landfill. As a result, it has become a major concern for the environment. 

By producing biodegradable sneakers, Nike’s sneakers can be easily decomposed. Biodegradable means nothing but getting easily decomposed by bacteria or other living organisms. As a result, it will decrease ground pollution. Biodegradable sneakers will get easily decomposed by living organisms. 

When thrown out, Nike’s biodegradable sneaker will easily break down into its natural elements, carbon dioxide and water vapor by organisms like bacteria and fungus. However, this project may take more time than expected. Because making biodegradable sneakers out of carbon is not as easy as you think. 

But Nike is already doing many impossible tasks like making the best quality sneakers out of factory waste and recyclable materials. In fact, Nike has even proved that these sneakers were designed to meet the quality and performance standards perfectly. Nike has become an inspiration for other industry leaders in the footwear department. 

Over the years, Nike has proved it is not only a leader in providing high-quality sneakers but also the most eco-friendly footwear out there.
