The famous food delivery platform has come a long way from entering into the local markets to entering into the stock market listing. 

Recently, Zomato launched an IPO to enter the stock market. It has rewritten the myth that startups can’t make it to Stock market listings. When everything is going great, the Co-Founder of Zomato decided to quit his role. 

Zomato’s Co-Founder Gaurav Gupta resignation from the company comes as a sudden surprise for everyone. Noone even Zomato employees haven’t anticipated such an event will take place. Gaurav Gupta’s decision has surprised shareholders too and the impact we can see on its share price too. 

Gaurav Gupta has played a crucial role in the success story of the Food delivery platform Zomato. On Tuesday the news came out when the company blog announced the news on the internet. Gaurav Gupta has shared a heart whelming mail with his employees. 

In the mail, he informed the reason behind his decision. He said that “I am taking a new turn in my life and will be starting a new chapter. Adding to that, he said the last 6 years have been very adventurous and taught many things me. Right now, the Zomato team has reached a point where it can guide itself towards all future endeavors. It’s time for me to take an alternate path in my journey. 

Along with this, he expressed his emotions while writing the mail saying “I am very emotional as a write this and don’t think of any words can do justice to his feelings what he is experiencing at that moment. Indeed, his mail has been a very emotional thing for everyone. At the same time, his absence will be unforgettable. Throughout the years, he has to lead the team and be a part of every new innovation that took place in Zomato’s success journey. 

Initially, he joined Zomato as the head of supply in the year 2015. From that day to till this day he has given his full efforts towards driving the internal team of Zomato for success. With his determination and hard work, he was elevated to the role of Co-Founder in 2019.

He played a crucial in developing many innovative services in Zomato like Zomato’s premium membership. Along with that, he has contributed very much to the departments of sales and marketing in his own style. 

After nearly 6 years of effort and hard work that he poured into the Zomato, he decided to take a leave from the company permanently. He is fully confident that Zomato has a powerful team that could effectively lead it towards success. Irrespective of Zomato’s success, his contribution will be always remembered among team members.
