Kohli Decided To Step Down From RCB Captaincy Fans Become Emotional

Virat Kohli is not only an ace cricket player but also a very respectable and most admired person in the field of cricketers. Kohli has millions of fans all over the world, especially in India. Over the years, he has transformed into an irreplaceable player and human being. He came a long way from being a young angry man to becoming the run machine in the field. 

A recent decision of Kohli is making the news on social media platforms. Kohli’s decision has shocked everyone in the cricket world. Many fans and cricket followers got emotional knowing Kohli’s decision. Virat decided to step down from RCB captaincy after the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season. The cricketer’s sudden decision came as shock for millions of cricket fans. 

It is worthy to note that Virat Kohli is the main contributor to the RCB’s wonderful track record. Though it didn’t reach the final, it has made its place in people’s hearts. RCB team is filled with many ace players and wonderful captains. Unfortunately, it couldn’t make it up to the finals. 

On Monday, RCB played with KKR for getting into the finals. However, the match didn’t well for the RCB players. Even though they have given their 100 percent still, they didn’t make it. They have lost the match to the KKR by 4wickets. 

Virat Kohli has taken over the captaincy of the RCB in 2013. Since then, the team was led by captain Kohli. Over the years, the team has shown off many improvements. RCB has become one of the best IPL teams consisting of several elite batsmen and bowlers. The team has gone to the finals of the IPL in 2016. Unfortunately, they didn’t win the match. 

On Monday once again, the IPL RCB team has lost the match to enter into finals. Though the IPL RCB team never won any IPL match, successfully reached the finals and ended up as runners-up multiple times, previously. On the other side, Virat made his decision to step down for captaincy. So we won’t see him as the captain of the RCB IPL team in the future. 

However, he will be playing as the batsman as usual. When people asked about his decision to withdraw from captaincy, Virat Kohli informed that workload was the major reason behind his decision. He opened up about it in the recent interview with Star Sports. 

The ace cricketer informed that “Workload was the main factor behind my decision and I didn’t want to be dishonest about my responsibilities. If I cannot give 120% to something, I am not someone who would hold on to something. He further said that I am not attached to anything to hold on to something like that, and that was very clear in my mind. 

What’s more heartbreaking than this is that he even stepping down as T20 captain after the T20 World Cup 2021. As the news went public, people became emotional. They couldn’t believe that the Indian cricket team’s backbone and the run machine will not play the captain’s role after the world cup 2021.
