One such field is wrestling. In the recent World Wrestling Championships, Indian female wrestler has made new history.
Anshu Malik, an Indian Female wrestler, has rewritten Indian wrestling history. Till now there were no female wrestlers who had reached the world championship. Anshu Malik becomes the first Indian woman to achieve this marvelous feat.
The finals of the Wrestling World Championships were held in Oslo, Norway on Thursday. In the final Anshu Malik competed with the two-time Olympic Medallist Helen Maroulis from the USA. The match was worth watching the spectacle. The audience was curious to find out who will be the winner. Because Anshu was previously injured badly, but she didn’t give up. In fact, she fought like it was her last fight. She gave it her all.
She delivered a heroic performance in the finals. Despite the pain and nerve-wracking stress, she exhibited great courage and grit. Her performance is hard to forget. She has not only the silver medal but also millions of Indian hearts.
By the end of the final match, the scores were Helen Maroulis 4-1. Anshu lost the final match to two-time Olympic Medalist Helen Maroulis in the women’s 57 kg. As a result, she became the first woman to win the silver medal in the World Wrestling Championships. She made history with this performance.
Also, it is worth noting that few other female wrestlers also participated in these World Championship matches. Other female wrestlers from India who participated in this tournament were Alka Tomar (2006), Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari (2012), Pooja Dhanda (2018), and Vinesh Phogat (2019). Vinesh Phogat has etched the bronze medal for India. Unfortunately, none of them reached the finals.
However, the 20-year-old has gone a bit further to all these elite wrestlers and made her mark. Her victory is being celebrated by the entire country. She is a great inspiration for all those aspiring wrestlers.

Everyone is appreciating her family and her coach, Kuldeep. Wrestling women’s team chief coach Kuldeep Malik was impressed beyond words with her performance. He said, “Anshu did good leg defense, her attacks were solid. This victory will provide her with a lot of confidence for future events, including the Olympics.
