Indian entrepreneur Vidyut Mohan wins Prince William’s 1 million prize !

This year, Delhi-based entrepreneur Vidyut Mohan has won the “Clean Our Air” prize and hefty prize money of $1.4 million. The young entrepreneur has been listed in many prestigious entrepreneur magazines like Forbes and Businessinsider. 

Vidyut Mohan is the co-founder and CEO of Takachar. His aim is to reduce the crop residue and air pollution caused by openly burning it. The company Takachar prevents the open burning of crop residuals and made an extra income by converting residuals into carbon-rich dense form. Which can be used to make fertilizers, fuels, and various products.

His project has been recognized and widely appreciated by various states across India. It could reduce the air pollution that is caused by crops residuals up to 95%. Which is a very revolutionary approach. Nowadays, many cities like Delhi, Bangalore, and others are facing high levels of air pollution. In such cases, Vidyut Mohan’s Takachar could play a significant role in reducing air pollution. 

The Prince William’s inaugural Earshot prize at a gala ceremony took place in London on October 17. Many environment enthusiasts and a few celebrities and artists have ended the event. Based on the televised version, we can say that the shows featured renowned naturalist David Attenborough. Along with grandiose performances from Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, and others. 

Prince William appeared in the short film that was released before the event. In that, he said “actions we choose or choose not to take in the next 10 years will determine the fate of the planet for the next thousand” He further added that “a decade doesn’t seem long but humankind has an outstanding record of being able to solve the unsolved” 

Many entrepreneurs and innovators have attended the event and participated in the event. Prince William presents five worldwide winners of the prize. For people who are fighting for the planet, to save it against global warming and climate changes.

In that contest, the Delhi-based entrepreneur received the award for the “Clean Our Air” prize for the creation of a portable machine. Which turns agricultural waste into carbon-dense material that you can use for raw materials for fuel, fertilizers, and more. 

Based on reports, the five finalists were selected by experts from more than 750 nominations. Vidyut Mohan has also received a hefty amount of $1.4 million. Not only that, he will be given help from companies to further develop his projects. This will give a boost to the young boy’s ambition.
