The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has taken the initiative to make things smoother and hassle-free for electric vehicle owners. On Saturday it has announced that it will install charging stations every 40 to 60 kilometers on National Highways.
Based on the reports, NHAI is expecting to cover close to 35000 to 40000, with charging stations by 2023. This means in the coming two years, nearly 700 stations will be installed. Not only this, the NHAI has expected to bring more facilities for the public.
The NHAI chairman Giridhar Aramane informed the news. Along with charging stations, we can witness the installation of toilets, driver’s resting rooms, restaurants, and petrol dispensing machines, and more.
NHAI official also informed that we have bid out 100 wayside amenities and got a crazy response. Which means there is heavy competition for getting the deal. If your NHAI awards the bids, then the work will be expected to be started as soon as possible. All these facilities will make the vehicles owners’ journey effortless on highways.
People don’t have to freak out if the vehicle breaks down or faces any problem on highways. Especially for electric owners, the main problem is the lack of charging stations on highways. Luckily, that problem will be addressed soon. With nearly 700 charging stations spread across 40000 km, electric vehicle owners will have the best long drive experience.
