Unacedemy Educator Siddharth Singh's racist comments on tribal causes

Unacedemy is one of the largest Ed-tech companies. It educates and helps people with competitive exams like UPSC SCE, defense exams, Govt exams, etc. There are many educators on the platform who educate and solve questions among their students. However, one of the educators landed the company in a terrific outrage. 

The educator’s name is Siddharth Singh, whose latest video of making extremely racist comments on tribal people has gone crazy viral. In the video on geography–Mission IAS 2021 | Geography by Siddharth Sir | Biomes, he made some ridiculous and senseless comments that made entire social media angry. 

You can observe in that video he said that “tribal people are stupid. They also lack legal land documents and property documents. People are wondering how an educated person that too on such a great platform Unacedemy could make these senseless comments. How audacious he is to pass on such racist comments. 

His racist comments on tribal people have put the internet on fire. The outrage caused by his discriminatory and hurtful comments landed the reputation of Unacedemy in trouble. Now, Unacedemy has to pay the price for hiring such biased people for such a privileged professional teacher role.

The issue was brought to light when Hengam Riba, a student of Tata Institute of Social Sciences Mumbai, who is from Arunachal Pradesh, tweet the video. The short clip shows how Siddharth Singh’s stupidity making discriminatory comments on Northeast tribal farmers. 

Later the video has gone viral, many tweeter users retweet the video calling him out. For the last few days, the video has been circulating all over the internet. Immediately the video was taken down by the Unacedemy. However, it was too late, till that point the made had made multiple rounds on social media platforms. 

Most importantly, TIPRA chairman Pradyot Debbarma taking to Twitter tagged CMs of the Northeastern states on Twitter along with the video. He urged them to take action against the educator Siddharth Singh and condemn the video. Along with that, he emphasized that racism exists in the country no matter how many times we try to deny it. 

The video short clip of Siddharth Singh’s discriminatory comments against tribal people is still available on social media platforms, you can check them out by yourself. However, addressing the outrage caused by the video online Unacedemy made an official statement apologized on behalf of the racist educator Siddharth Singh. 

Unacedmy informed that the racist educator has been penalized in compliance with our internal code of conduct guidelines. It further stated that we regret the comments made by the educator and the hurt caused by his discriminatory comments. 

With the racist video, people heavily trolled and criticized Unacedemy about its recruitment policies. Some even said Unacedemy recruits senseless and blindly. Responding to those comments, Unacedemy informed that it has nearly 4000 educators across India. Who undergo a mandatory and rigorous training before they start teaching after teaching at periodic intervals. 

Whatever the case may be, educators like him neither should be in teaching nor should get a chance to pass on such racist comments to youngsters. Let’s see whether he comes out and apologies for his mistake or just lets the Unacedemy deal with the hassle he made on social media.
