Facebook and Instagram to invest $1 billion to promote content creators

Facebook and Instagram

If there is something that keeps users on a particular platform for a longer period, then it is the content. Content is the main pillar for any platform to encourage users to spend more time. Content creators play a crucial role in creating engaging content. Keeping this in mind, every platform is focusing on content to outweigh their competition. Recently giants like Facebook and Instagram announced they will invest $1 billion to promote content creators.

Both the giants’ Facebook and Instagram are planning to attract and promote content creators with exciting rewards. Based on reports, Facebook along with Instagram will spend $1 billion for content creators by the end of 2022.

Facebook’s main objective is to reward content creators for achieving certain milestones in the app. Based on reports, Facebook is planning to include bonus programs to pay creators for achieving specific milestones with their content. Which will encourage existing content creators along with new content creators providing a lot more value to the platform.

As of now, it seems that Facebook bonuses will be by invitation only. Along with this, Facebook informed that video creators and online gamers will receive a monthly for reaching milestones in earning stars. These stars will be given to content creators from their viewers and fans.

In simple terms, fans can reward these stars to their favorite content creators. If you achieve milestones in collecting these stars, then Facebook will pay you accordingly.

Whereas Instagram rewarding modules are a bit different. Instagram bonus programs will include rewarding best-performing reels. It will encourage content creators whose reels perform well among users. Instagram has copied these features from TikTok which has seen massive popularity in the Indian market for its content. In fact, most of the popular platforms copied this feature.

So Instagram will let content creators earn money based on how well their Reels and videos perform. Facebook is making its full efforts to attract users from other platforms, especially TikTok former users. But how far these payment services and rewarding systems will be beneficial we have to wait and see.

Previously TikTok has used a similar strategy for rewarding its content creators. It could be one of the reasons for its massive popularity among users. Nearly everyone from the general public to superstar celebrities has been regular users of the app.

TikTok has achieved 3 billion downloads on the play store. It is the fifth non-game app to reach that milestone which was previously set by Facebook. So it’s a no-brainer for other platforms to imitate the same strategies with their audience. In addition, Tiktok has been banned in India, which could be an advantage for Facebook.

Facebook and Instagram plans for investing $1 billion to promote content creators will benefit both content creators and the platform. Content creators will get a boost for their efforts which results in an increasing number of user engagement with the content. As a result, it will generate more content on the platform. If you are also a content creator, then it’s time to expand your network.
