Research shows that India is worried about environment problems like any other country

environment problems

India is one of the fastest-growing countries in the world. On the contrary, it is also one of the countries that will face serious environmental problems in the upcoming years. India’s increasing plastic usage and overpopulation are one of the main reasons for this problem. These environmental problems not only affect animals and trees but also highly affect humans. If we will not find an effective solution for these problems, it could hinder our development in many ways.

Here are some of the major environmental problems in India

Air pollution

In India, there is a continuous increment in air pollution levels which eventually leads to climate change. Delhi’s air pollution is the first thing that India needs to solve. Among other cities, Delhi’s air pollution levels are significantly high. Based on research, over 80% of cities in India are suffering from air pollution. To cope with this situation Indian government started the National Clean Air Program in early 2019 to address air pollution. Industries are also developing more electric vehicles and focusing on raising awareness among citizens towards this. So India could reduce air pollution levels in the near future. It won’t be a great deduction but it will be helpful.

Plastic Pollution

Plastic is the revolutionary commodity that nearly made its impact on every industry possible. From the automobile industry to the medical industry every industry makes use of Plastic in large quantities. Plastic has become part of everything that we use. At the same time, people using plastic and throwing it away has become a major concern for the government. Plastic heavily affects the environment as it is not easily disposable. Every year nearly 3.3 million metric tons of plastic waste is generated in India, based on reports. Both the government and brands are taking special efforts to reduce this.

Urbanization

Every day millions of people migrating to urban areas from rural areas. Due to which cities are getting more crowded, which increases the struggle for natural resources. Also, increased population causes other problems like plastic usage and automobile usage, and greenhouse gases emission. It looks like everything is connected. One problem leads to other problems as a result the environment gets affected heavily as a final result.

Deforestation and Mining

India is the second populated country in the world. To accommodate everyone and provide enough resources for everyone takes enormous sacrifices from the environment. This resulted in deforestation for the continuous development of cities. The massive need for construction materials and energy sources Mining started. Now Mining has become a serious issue for the environment. Mining not only takes resources from the environment but also heavily disturbs earth materials and natural structure.

It’s hard to point out each and every problem that India is currently struggling to control. Not only India, but the entire world is also at risk because of these environmental problems. These problems could make the planet earth less supportive for human beings. So it is important for all of us to be more environmentally conscious and act towards making things better. Both Government and Industries are making their efforts to fight these issues. But only the future will reveal how effective these efforts could be.
